Two bespoke large new build houses one 7 bed and one 5 bed, situated in Walsall. SB Design Consultants worked closely with the client and the clients Architect to provide practical and cost effective solution the structure for both properties. We offered a full design service which provided calculations in support for foundations, masonry superstructure, timberwork to floors & roof and steel beams and columns. All calculations and drawings were collated and packaged and ready for issue to Building Control

SB Design Consultants were appointed as Structural Engineers to produce calculations in support of a two storey rear extension. Our involvement comprised designing steel beams over large openings supporting structure from above and over openings to facilitate bi-folding doors, Timber floor & flat roof joist design and masonry bearing & wall stability checks. All calculations were packaged and supported with sketch details ready for issue to Building control and use for their chosen Builder.

SB Design Consultants were appointed to provide structural calculations in support of a single storey, flat roof extension. After the Building Inspector identified that traditional foundations would not be suitable for the extension we were called upon to look into suitable options for the foundations, we put forward the option of using a RC Raft foundation which was accepted by the BI and we produced a full design of the RC Raft which included CAD drawings and a supporting RC Schedule ready for the Builders use. Along with the foundation our scope also included the design of steelwork to support an atrium roof light and the end of the flat roof over proposed Bi-fold door.

SB Design Consultants were approached by the Chesterton Hotel, during lock down in need of structural advice to keep their project moving forward on schedule. We were appointed to design structure to support a single storey infill extension between the existing building and a newly sourced banqueting structure. After our initial appointment SB Design Consultants were reappointed to give structural advice and provide calculations in support of steelwork, timberwork, masonry checks and foundations in support of internal remediation's.
